About the role#
The Security Analyst Future role is part of our 8-week summer internship program. You will work directly with our IT Security, Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, Network Engineering, and Support Operations teams. This position is based at our office in Overland Park, Kansas, and focuses on maintaining and improving our company security posture.
What you'll do#
- Build professional relationships across IT and business departments.
- Gain hands-on exposure to enterprise firewall clusters, VPN devices, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Review security engineering requirements, standards, and internal procedures.
- Participate in team reviews of security support models.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes.
- Monitor change requests to ensure they meet security requirements and do not introduce compliance risks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Information Security or Computer Science with an emphasis in Information Security.
- A demonstrated interest in cybersecurity, technology, solution design, and self-study.
- Active involvement in school clubs or organizations related to security.
- A desire to learn regulatory compliance requirements like PCI, HIPAA, SSAE Option 18, and NIST standards.
- Working knowledge of AWS services or Azure equivalents.
- Exposure to Identity Management, Access Management, and Directory Services, including LDAPv3, SQL, and NoSQL technologies.
- Programming or scripting experience is a plus.
