About the role#
Visualization Engineers at Netflix act as data storytellers, building high-performance products that serve as company-wide sources of truth. This role involves creating analytical tools that support content strategy and complex decision-making processes. You will be embedded within a team, working to translate sophisticated data science outputs into intuitive, actionable insights for a broad audience.
What you'll do#
- Design compelling data stories and build visually stunning user experiences centered around data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with the internal data visualization community and partner with Data Science and Engineering roles.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to iterate on tools based on user feedback.
- Apply design concepts regarding chart forms, typography, and color to ensure clear and legible data communication.
- Manage the end-to-end user experience, from data preparation to interface design.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related analytics field, with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Must be returning to school for at least one semester or quarter following the internship.
- Experience with data storytelling through the development of web applications and interactive visualizations.
- Proficiency in front-end JavaScript and Node.js.
- Experience working with visualization libraries and component frameworks, such as React.
- Experience working with data from various sources, including API endpoints and relational databases.
