About the role#
The JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences at National University is seeking a part-time Research Assistant. This is a temporary student worker position funded by a grant. You will support the Principal Investigator and the research team to ensure project success. This role requires the ability to work autonomously for extended periods while following the guidance of the project team.
What you'll do#
- Transcribe and code qualitative and quantitative data from surveys and interviews.
- Run basic statistical analyses.
- Assist with literature reviews for research and publishable documents.
- Use LLMs to develop automated tools for coding narratives.
- Store participant data and manage project documentation.
- Contribute intellectually to project processes and outcomes.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, biology, cognitive science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis software such as NVivo or SPSS.
- Experience using LLMs for complex research tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical-thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Student Information Systems like SOAR or Peoplesoft is preferred.
- Experience in experimental psychology, mixed methodology, or healthcare settings is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.

- This position is fully remote.
- This is a part-time, temporary role available on a rolling basis.
