    About the role#

    Multimatic is hiring a CNC Operator/Machinist for a full-time co-op position. This role is based at our engineering development center in Markham, Ontario. You will work on-site from January 2027 through December 2027.

    What you'll do#

    You will handle the day-to-day machining needs for our projects. Your primary responsibilities include saw-cutting and squaring up metal, setting up machining tools, and running CNC code. You will verify that finished components meet project requirements and maintain accurate job records.

    Collaboration is key to this role. You will work with design engineers, project leaders, and toolmakers to develop manufacturable components. You will also help keep the shop clean and safe, track your time, and participate in continuous improvement efforts. Depending on the supervisor's direction, you may also train or guide co-workers.

    What you'll need#

    We are looking for a student currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. You should be comfortable operating manual lathes and milling machines, as well as using hand tools. We expect you to be proficient in milling machine set-ups and have a basic understanding of feeds and speeds. You must also be able to program CNC code from provided CAD data.
