About the role#
Multimatic is seeking an E-Coat Co-op student to support operations at the East Gwillimbury facility. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position for students enrolled in a co-op program. You will work directly with the e-coat wastewater and conveyor systems to ensure efficient production and process stability.
What you'll do#
- Prepare for system start-ups, monitor operations, and manage shutdowns for e-coat wastewater and conveyor systems.
- Perform analytical and instrumental analyses on process tanks, interpreting results to make necessary chemical additions or equipment adjustments.
- Conduct scheduled process and performance tests on finished parts to verify they meet specifications.
- Maintain records of performance parameters for equipment including ultra-filtration systems, paint chillers, reverse osmosis plants, and chemical metering pumps.
- Perform routine maintenance, such as purging filter systems and removing waste sludge.
- Monitor chemical and consumable inventory levels and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Collect film-thickness data and assist in preparing process capability reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary co-op program in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology.
- Knowledge of e-coat materials, processes, and related equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide recommendations to improve process operations.
- A working knowledge of S.P.C, Gage R&R, Calibrations, and Q.O.S. is considered an asset.
