About the role#
Multimatic is hiring an Application Engineering Co-op to join the team in East Gwillimbury. This is a full-time, paid position for students currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program. You will work on-site as part of our technical team.
What you'll do#
- Work with stakeholders to define and document software requirements.
- Design application architecture with a focus on security, performance, and scalability.
- Write and maintain clean code using frameworks and languages such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript.
- Conduct unit, system, and integration testing to find and fix bugs.
- Deploy applications and manage ongoing maintenance.
- Monitor performance and suggest improvements.
- Create technical documentation for new and existing applications.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary co-op program related to Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Experience in software development.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of networking protocols including OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, 802.11, and QoS.
- Experience with network diagnostic, analytic, and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with SQL or MySQL databases.
- Strong analytical skills to solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Location: East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $17.60 - $25.48 per hour.
