About the role#
Multimatic is seeking a Welding Support Co-op to join the team in East Gwillimbury. This role focuses on maintaining production equipment, ensuring weld quality, and supporting maintenance initiatives to minimize downtime.
What you'll do#
- Assist in solving maintenance problems to ensure minimal interruption to production.
- Monitor weld processes to ensure all quality specifications are met.
- Troubleshoot welding process issues as they arise.
- Maintain up to date documentation for all equipment and record changes.
- Participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program, including following schedules and completing checklists.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new technologies to improve productivity and quality.
- Make recommendations for improving equipment efficiency and reducing costs.
- Support the Assembly, Facilities, and Press/Toolroom departments as needed.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions and help prepare safety and operation procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary co-op program in a related field, such as Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Civil, or Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and the GMAW welding process.
- Good problem solving techniques and excellent communication skills.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tools is an asset.
- Experience with mechanical systems is an asset.
