About the role#
The Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T) division is seeking interns for the Summer 2027 term. This program offers students the chance to work on projects within lab-based product commercialization or technical operations groups. You will work on large or small molecule drug processes while gaining exposure to the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, 12-week internship.
What you'll do#
- Integrate with project teams to expand your laboratory experience and skills.
- Apply principles of engineering, chemistry, and pharmaceutics to characterize and scale-up bench or pilot-scale processes.
- Develop, optimize, and implement innovative laboratory and manufacturing technologies.
- Use process modeling, statistical tools, and data analytics to identify process insights.
- Support the development and transfer of technologies to commercial operation groups.
- Collaborate with operations and quality teams to execute strategic projects and improve process performance.
- Examine issues from multiple perspectives to resolve root causes related to safety, compliance, or equipment.
- Assist with the transfer of products within the manufacturing network.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline.
- Graduation date between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Availability for a 12-week internship starting in late May or early June 2027.
- Experience with lab-based research or process development.
- Knowledge of unit operations common in drug substance or drug product processes, such as filtration, chromatography, or fermentation.
- Proficiency in statistical design, computer programming, modeling, or data science tools.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication abilities.

- This internship is located on-site in West Point, Pennsylvania, or Rahway, New Jersey.
- The position is paid and full-time.
- Visa sponsorship is not provided for this role.
