About the role#
This Co-op position is part of the Future Talent Program within the Vaccines and Advanced Biotechnologies Process R&D division. You will work in the Biologics Pilot Plant at the West Point site. The role supports the Bioprocess Clinical Manufacturing and Technology department through projects in automation, process operations, or capital sub-teams. This is a full-time, paid internship lasting 4-6 months.
What you'll do#
- Develop code for process control, monitoring, and visualization.
- Build tools to improve efficiency within the automation group and the broader department.
- Manage GMP change controls, documentation, and equipment testing.
- Review and organize SharePoint content and implement new operational playbooks.
- Update templates for key deliverables and support new equipment qualification.
- Assist with GMP manufacturing, equipment specification, installation, and commissioning.
- Attend team meetings and convey work results through verbal and written updates.
- Collaborate across functional teams while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BS or BA program in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive, adaptable attitude.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Capacity to learn new techniques, handle multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records.
- Automation applicants: Experience with Python or process control systems like PLC or DeltaV is preferred.
- Process Operations applicants: Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting, specifically with cell culture, fermentation, or downstream purification of large molecules.
- Capital applicants: Previous experience with GMP, manufacturing, or equipment is preferred; an Engineering degree is a plus.

- Term: Summer 2027 or Fall 2027 (4-6 month commitment).
