About the role#
The Quantitative Biosciences, Cellular Pharmacology & Lead Discovery team offers an internship focused on the discovery and advancement of medicines for cancer and cardiometabolic disorders. You will work alongside experienced scientists to execute cellular assays and evaluate preclinical therapeutic candidates. This program lasts 8 to 12 weeks and provides a platform to gain experience in a professional research environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn about cellular assays used in drug development.
- Use laboratory automation to improve robustness and increase throughput.
- Run cellular assays to support compound screening and mechanism of action studies.
- Test and optimize new assay technologies and methods.
- Use industry-standard data analysis tools and maintain accurate records.
- Present data during internal meetings and deliver a final verbal presentation.
- Participate in scientific exchange with team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time degree program in biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Completion of at least 2 years of a BS/BA program or 1 year of a master’s/PhD program by the start of the internship.
- Availability to work full-time for 8 to 12 weeks starting in May or June 2027.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A record of strong academic achievement.
- Ability to work independently in a team environment.
- Previous laboratory experience with cell biology techniques is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with aseptic technique and cell culture practice is preferred.
- Detail-oriented habits with excellent record-keeping skills are preferred.
