About the role#
Mortenson Properties Inc. is seeking an Investment Analyst Intern to support asset management, portfolio management, and commercial real estate opportunities. This role involves detailed financial analysis and recommendations to support investment decisions. You will work on strategic initiatives including technological innovation and AI workflows.
What you'll do#
- Gain experience with underwriting and complex financial modeling, including cash flow projections in Excel and ARGUS.
- Assist in analyzing potential investments and prepare materials for the Investment Committee.
- Research supply and demand fundamentals to maintain competitive set analyses for target markets.
- Participate in due diligence and closing processes, from acquisition and development through disposition.
- Evaluate capitalization and financing strategies.
- Develop financial models to support credit analysis.
- Present an AI and Investment-themed capstone project to senior executives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate, four-year degree program in Real Estate, Finance, or a related field. Undergraduate juniors are preferred.
- Previous internship experience in a related field.
- A basic understanding of construction and general business practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities with attention to detail and organization.
- A positive, professional attitude and solid customer service skills.

- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).

- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid, starting at $18 per hour, with potential for higher wages based on year in school.
