About the role#
As an Associate Buyer Intern for BLU54, you will join a team focused on transforming the construction supply chain. You will work directly with project teams to manage material distribution and procurement. This role involves active participation in the design-assist process and requires coordination across various product lines, including lighting, flooring, tile, steel, and windows.
What you'll do#
- Learn about BLU54 product lines used on Mortenson projects.
- Build relationships with suppliers by soliciting bids, analyzing quotations, and assisting with supplier selection.
- Create and maintain procurement catalogs for supported operating groups and projects.
- Track order status from placement through delivery and provide updates to project teams.
- Enter purchase orders, arrange returns for products, and propose transactions for approval.
- Visit job sites or equipment facilities to understand material applications and organizational structure.
- Work effectively with people across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, Logistics, Construction, or a related field.
- Current status as an undergraduate junior.
- Basic understanding of construction and general business practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time paid internship located in Minnesota.
- The program runs during the Summer 2027 term.
