About the role#
The Institutional Equity Co-Op program offers a six-month immersion within the Institutional Equity Division at Morgan Stanley. You will work directly on a desk within the division, gaining hands-on experience in financial markets, client relationship management, and product solutions. This role is full-time and based in New York City.
What you'll do#
- Deliver research, market insights, and actionable investment and trade ideas to institutional clients.
- Facilitate client participation in equity capital markets activity, including IPOs and block offerings.
- Maintain a deep understanding of client portfolios to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Support leading hedge funds and institutional investors through client service, risk monitoring, and operational oversight.
- Perform financial analytics, generate client profitability insights, and assist with balance sheet optimization.
- Collaborate with internal partners across Sales, Trading, Capital Markets, and Research to inform firm strategy.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate degree with a graduation date after December 2027.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work full-time and in-person from January through June 2027.
- Academic background in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or Statistics.
