About the role#
As a Global Business Operations Partner Intern, you will help drive operational excellence initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, and business performance across our manufacturing operations. You will work directly with the Global Business Operations Partner to apply data analytics, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools to identify opportunities for process optimization. Throughout the summer, you will collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Technical teams to transform data into actionable insights and help solve real manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support Lean Six Sigma initiatives and complete the work required for White Belt certification.
- Apply structured problem-solving to identify root causes of process inefficiencies and quality challenges.
- Collect and analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, perform hypothesis testing, and build dashboards for stakeholders.
- Evaluate process performance using systems including OEMM, MOS, MES, and GLIMS.
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to conduct trend analysis on defect data and assist in corrective action initiatives.
- Lead or support continuous improvement projects from charter through implementation, including developing scopes, timelines, and success metrics.
- Present project recommendations and business impacts to site leadership and the global Quality organization.
- Collaborate across Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to prioritize improvement opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
- Ability to remain enrolled for at least one semester following the internship.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Preferred: Experience with Minitab, Power BI, Tableau, JMP, R, or Python.
- Preferred: Coursework in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or operations management.
