About the role#
We are seeking a Supply Chain Operations Intern to join our team in either Cheektowaga or Rochester. This is a paid, full-time internship that offers a hands-on look at the logistics and freight forwarding industry. You will work directly with our operations team to support import processes and client services.
What you'll do#
- Support branch operations by opening shipment files and auditing documentation.
- Match available freight loads with carrier options.
- Track shipments and perform data entry to assist with decision making.
- Communicate with carriers and agents to build partnerships and sell services.
- Negotiate pricing and prepare client quotes.
- Conduct industry research and participate in team meetings to learn our processes.
- Collaborate with team members to meet departmental goals.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student majoring in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and handle changing priorities.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in negotiating with service providers and problem-solving is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
