About the role#
Mohawk Global is looking for a Supply Chain Operations Intern to join our team in Itasca, Illinois. This role supports our branch operations and provides hands-on experience in logistics and freight forwarding. You will contribute to our daily service goals while building your professional skills in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Support import operations by opening shipment files and filing ISF entries.
- Match freight loads with carrier options and track active shipments.
- Communicate with carriers and agents to build partnerships and sell company services.
- Perform data entry, analysis, and industry research to support team decision making.
- Negotiate pricing and prepare client quotes.
- Participate in meetings to learn company processes and assist with departmental goals.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising undergraduate student majoring in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience negotiating with service providers and solving problems for mutual benefit.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to handle changing priorities and multitask effectively.
- Receptiveness to professional feedback.
