About the role#
This is a full-time summer internship based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The program runs from June 7, 2027, to August 20, 2027. You will join the Global Safety Epidemiology program to gain hands-on experience in real-world research, safety monitoring, and integrated evidence planning within a regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to the role of epidemiology in pharmacovigilance across the development lifecycle.
- Conduct research to contextualize and evaluate safety signals, potential risks, and special populations relevant to safety monitoring.
- Contribute to evidence generation and synthesis for vaccine safety monitoring in key global markets outside the US.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance, Real-World Evidence Analytics, Medical Affairs, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, and Clinical Development.
- Contribute to cross-functional signal detection, validation, and evaluation workflows.
- Lead and present findings from an epidemiologic project addressing a topic relevant to safety monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a PhD or ScD program in Epidemiology or a closely related discipline.
- Strong background in epidemiology and biostatistics.
- Experience with SAS or R.
- Interest in vaccine development, pharmacoepidemiologic methods, pharmacovigilance, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to meet deadlines, a team-oriented mindset, adaptability under pressure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance.

- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Modality: Hybrid (70% in-office).
- Employment: Full-time paid internship.
- Note: This role is unable to offer immigration sponsorship. Candidates must already hold work authorization in the US and be able to maintain that status without future sponsorship.
