About the role#
This co-op position offers students a chance to learn from the field while working with industry professionals. You will support the delivery of construction projects and gain insight into how teams coordinate, maintain schedules, and solve technical challenges. This role provides a foundation for a career in construction or project management.
What you'll do#
- Work with project managers to gather information and prepare reports.
- Assist with the control of site contract documents.
- Coordinate priorities and activities with general contractors.
- Support meetings with subcontractors and clients.
- Monitor and manage construction schedules.
- Relay information between field staff and office personnel.
- Support project managers, coordinators, and foremen on various project tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a university degree or college diploma program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- A reliable, resourceful, and team-oriented approach.
- Comfort working in both office settings and on construction job sites.
- Previous work experience, construction industry exposure, or a basic understanding of plumbing and HVAC systems are considered assets.
- A Working at Heights Certificate is helpful but not required, as training is provided.
