About the role#
MKS Inc. is hiring an Engineering/Development Intern for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within the OSP division, which focuses on optical sensors and systems for temperature and position measurement. You will report to the Principal Optical Engineer and contribute to the development of new technologies and products through hands-on technical work.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and analyze experiments to evaluate precision temperature and position sensing products.
- Design, simulate, construct, and validate new test equipment.
- Set up and calibrate optical and thermal characterization equipment.
- Create and maintain test documentation, including plans, procedures, and reports.
- Use statistical analysis software to interpret data and draw conclusions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a relevant major.
- Technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on systematic data interpretation.
- Comfort working with hardware, lab equipment, and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, LabView, or MATLAB.
- Strong attention to detail.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to April 2027).
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
