About the role#
As an Electrical/Computer Engineering Co-op at MKS Power Solutions, you will partner with the ADG team to research and develop novel amplifier topologies and control systems for RF Power Supplies. You will report to the Manager of R&D and gain exposure to the semiconductor fabrication market through hands-on project work and team collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design and testing of RF generators and matching networks.
- Operate and test equipment in the plasma lab.
- Develop control platforms on FPGAs using Xilinx, Vivado, and VHDL.
- Analyze test data using MATLAB.
- Assemble PCBs and units in the lab.
- Write Python scripts to automate testing processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent program.
- Experience with Python and knowledge of electrical circuits.
- Proficiency in FPGA programming with VHDL.
- Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators.
- A strong willingness to learn.
- Preferred: Experience with Xilinx/Vivado, RF design, E&M fields, and network analyzers.

- Location: Rochester, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: $23.00 to $31.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Includes 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days for those working at least 20 hours per week.
