About the role#
Entegris is seeking an Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op for our Bloomington, Minnesota site. This is a 6-month, full-time assignment running from January through June 2027. You will work on-site, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8a-5p. This position is paid and requires no sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Support the build, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and electromechanical assemblies.
- Assist in developing, refining, and validating manufacturing processes for electrical and mechanical sub-systems.
- Create and maintain clear, operator-friendly work instructions and ensure they reflect real production practices.
- Perform root-cause analysis on defects and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and process mapping to find improvement opportunities.
- Participate in equipment setup, calibration checks, and verification of test fixtures.
- Identify and help implement safety and ergonomic improvements on the production floor.
- Assist in data collection for yield, scrap, and process capability metrics.
- Work with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve production issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools like 5S and Kaizen.
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and revision control records.
- Provide hands-on support during engineering builds, pilot runs, and validation activities.
- Assist in developing test procedures and verifying electrical test equipment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of electrical circuits, components, and electromechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with basic hand tools, measurement devices, and lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting assembly issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to write, update, and follow technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts like 5S, standard work, and waste reduction.
- Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work hands-on in a production or lab environment.
- Must be a currently enrolled student familiar with university requirements for co-op participation.
