About the role#
The End Point Engineering team manages Windows and Macintosh computers at the Laboratory. We focus on configuration management, security patching, and tier 3 support to keep devices secure and functional for research staff. This co-op position assists the packaging team in preparing updates for deployment. You will perform quality assurance testing to identify defects in software packages, ensuring compatibility and stability before they reach the production environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform quality assurance testing for Windows software packages based on defined criteria.
- Document test results and identify risks related to software installation or program stability.
- Notify team members of issues and recommend countermeasures.
- Provide trouble ticket support by acting as a bridge between Field Services and Tier 3 Engineering.
- Assist in ticket resolution.
- Develop and update procedural documentation.
- Handle administrative tasks, including filing Change Requests and presenting changes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
- Basic knowledge of Windows computers.
- Strong attention to detail to detect faults and run tests correctly.
- A customer-focused mindset with clear communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- A positive attitude.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.

- Location: Lexington, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through April).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25-$32 per hour, based on years of school completed.
