About the role#
Group 39 is seeking a co-op student to provide hardware and software support for over 70 users. You will work on existing projects and help develop new ones to improve the group's IT effectiveness. This is a paid, full-time position for the Fall 2026 term. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required for this role, and the selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Perform operating system installations and troubleshooting for Windows 11, Windows Server, and Linux (Red Hat and Ubuntu).
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure within the local area network, including connections from remote locations.
- Support staff with daily hardware, software, and network issues.
- Identify vulnerabilities across IT assets and apply patches or other fixes.
- Assist in the development of the growing IT infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, or IT.
- Knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server, Mac OS X, and Linux.
- Understanding of virtualization concepts and basic experience with hypervisors.
- Familiarity with Microsoft and other application software.
- Basic understanding of computer networking.

- Compensation: $25 to $32 per hour, depending on your year in school.
