This co-op position offers the opportunity to contribute to AI research focused on national security. You will work within the Artificial Intelligence Technology and Systems Group, which specializes in developing machine learning algorithms and systems for multimedia data analysis and cybersecurity. The role emphasizes operational relevance, requiring the design and evaluation of systems using realistic datasets to support mission-critical applications.
What you'll do#
- Develop machine learning algorithms for cybersecurity applications.
- Evaluate AI and ML systems using realistic datasets and performance metrics.
- Partner with intelligence analysts and cyber operators to facilitate the transition of technologies into mission-critical systems.
- Contribute to research initiatives impacting national security.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Enrollment at a college or university with a formal co-op program.
- Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or R.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance.
