About the role#
The Social Media Intern works with the Digital Media Manager to develop content and carry out the strategic vision for Iowa Wild social media channels. You will help engage with fans, apply current trends, and support team coverage at various events.
What you'll do#
- Create, edit, schedule, and post content for X, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, BlueSky, and YouTube.
- Attend home games, community events, player appearances, and brand activation initiatives to capture content.
- Use graphic design skills to support digital projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications, Film, Digital Cinematography, Creative Writing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with TikTok, X, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Experience capturing content with a camera and iPhone.
- Proficiency in editing photo and video content using software like Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, or InDesign.
- Experience with social media scheduling tools such as Agorapulse, Sprout Social, or Hootsuite.
- Understanding of the sport of hockey.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with project management systems like Lytho is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a part-time, seasonal, paid internship based in Des Moines, Iowa.
- Work is on-site and requires availability during nights, weekends, and holidays for games and events.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
