About the role#
The Minnesota Historical Society is looking for a Marketing & Communications Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, part-time position requiring 12 hours per week. You will work on-site at the History Center in St. Paul from January 19, 2027, to May 23, 2027. Interns are required to attend three professional development seminars and give a final presentation at the end of the term.
What you'll do#
- Track media coverage of the organization.
- Coordinate on-site media interviews when needed.
- Write content for media alerts and various marketing materials.
- Develop and execute social media content.
- Update the website, including managing calendar events.
- Work alongside and learn from experienced marketing professionals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student, or graduation within the past 12 months.
- A degree or progress toward a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or Journalism.
- 1-3 years of classroom experience in these fields.
- A basic understanding of marketing principles.

- Location: St. Paul, Minnesota.
- Schedule: 12 hours per week, flexible based on your school schedule.
- Required seminar dates: February 4, March 18, and April 22, 2027.
- Final presentation date: May 23, 2027.
