About the role#
This summer internship offers an opportunity to work on a process improvement project within a manufacturing environment. You will report to a Senior Process Engineer or a Process Improvement Manager at the Highland Plant. This is a paid, full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
What you'll do#
- Manage a manufacturing project to achieve specific results.
- Use continuous improvement techniques to determine solutions.
- Identify unique approaches to problem solving through creative thinking.
- Communicate project updates and findings to individuals and groups.
- Collaborate with a diverse team to implement project improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising junior or senior pursuing a BS degree.
- Major in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to start work in May 2027.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to attend the Intern Leadership Forum in Spartanburg, SC.
- Ability to participate in the final presentation review in Spartanburg, SC, during August.

- Term: Summer 2027 (mid-May through the first week of August).
