About the role#
Michigan United is seeking a Canvassing Fellowship Lead for the 2026 election cycle. This is a temporary, full-time position focused on executing a large-scale independent voter canvassing campaign. As a lead, you will mentor fellows, maintain high standards for voter outreach, and contribute to the organization's mission of building civic power through racial, gender, and economic justice.
What you'll do#
- Conduct outreach through door-to-door canvassing to register, educate, and mobilize voters.
- Provide daily support to the management team by shadowing fellows and offering feedback on door conversations.
- Set standards for door knock metrics and conversation quality.
- Ensure data integrity for all canvassing efforts.
- Participate in daily briefings and debriefs with the canvassing team.
- Support team launches, onboarding, and morale.
What you'll need#
- A strong commitment to racial, gender, and economic justice.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with the public.
- High energy, organizational skills, and a self-starting attitude.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from canvassing locations.
- Academic background in Political Science, Sociology, Communications, Public Health, or History is preferred.

- Compensation: This is a paid position at $25 per hour.
