About the role#
This 11-week internship program provides hands-on experience within the Meijer Supply Chain organization. You will work on projects that impact the business and interact with senior leaders. The program aims to develop your professional skillsets and may lead to consideration for future full-time roles, including the Supply Chain Rotational Program.
What you'll do#
- Deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business.
- Participate in the daily operations of Fresh, General Merchandise, or Grocery teams.
- Conduct transportation strategy and freight optimization analysis.
- Perform carrier performance analysis and data analytics.
- Identify opportunities to improve product flow from suppliers.
- Explore logistics technologies, including AI applications in logistics analytics.
- Support reporting, routing, and rate negotiations.
- Monitor product return compliance and warehouse unloading efficiency.
- Deliver final presentations to senior executives.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics, General Business Management, or International Business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI or SQL.
- A drive for results with a focus on the bottom line.
- Customer focus dedicated to meeting expectations.
- Relationship skills for creating positive working connections.
- Communication skills for both verbal and written information.
- Problem solving skills to interpret data and look beyond the obvious.
