About the role#
This 11-week paid internship provides hands-on experience within the finance function of a large retail enterprise. You will work on projects that impact the business while interacting with senior leaders. The program includes professional development, training, and networking events.
What you'll do#
Your work will focus on one of four areas: Audit, Financial Planning and Reporting, Capital Planning and Treasury, or Financial Operations. You will:
- Participate in the planning, execution, and reporting of audits.
- Identify and document financial, technological, and business risks.
- Execute audit procedures and summarize results for management.
- Run statistical experiments and interpret data.
- Prepare financial statements and support cost accounting for manufacturing.
- Analyze accounting processes to improve efficiency.
- Manage fixed asset capitalization and disposal.
- Assist with cash management, treasury functions, and payroll processing.
- Review transactional workflows for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and customer payments.
- Support business functions with imaging, travel, and mail services.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program, preferably working toward a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Junior level standing is preferred.
- Completion of a Financial Accounting course prior to the internship is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and a drive for results.
- Ability to build positive relationships with team members and customers.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
