About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You will join the Data Science team to work on merchandising and marketing projects. The program lasts 11 weeks and focuses on providing hands-on experience within the retail industry. You will work on-site at our corporate offices.
What you'll do#
- Define, develop, and implement data science solutions that impact our business.
- Collaborate directly with product development and business teams.
- Use cloud technology, including machine learning and artificial intelligence platforms.
- Present your final project results to senior executives.
- Participate in an executive leadership speaker series.
- Attend professional development training, networking sessions, and community events.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Databricks.
- Expertise in data mining, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and project management principles.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused mindset.
