About the role#
The Financial Planning Intern supports the team in servicing high net worth and ultra high net worth clients. You will gain hands-on experience in advisory, consultative, and business development skills by working directly with advisors on client onboarding, meeting preparation, and financial plan creation.
What you'll do#
- Support client onboarding by preparing and processing paperwork.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and creating clear materials to explain financial concepts.
- Observe client meetings to learn how advisors build relationships and solve challenges.
- Help with follow-up tasks such as research, documentation, and solution development.
- Use CRM and financial planning software for data management and plan modeling.
- Support daily client service activities, including account maintenance and money movement.
- Assist with data entry and compiling plan deliverables.
- Contribute your ideas during team discussions and collaborate on special projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor or master degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship.
- Major in wealth management, financial planning, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- Interest in a client-facing advisory career.
- Strong customer service orientation and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, relatable way.
- Detail-oriented approach with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Comfort contributing ideas in group settings.
