About the role#
The Financial Planning Intern supports our staff in servicing high net worth and ultra high net worth clients. You will gain hands-on experience in holistic financial planning and client relationship management. This role focuses on building your advisory, consultative, and business development skills through direct support of our advisor teams.
What you'll do#
- Support client onboarding by preparing and processing paperwork.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and creating clear materials for financial presentations.
- Observe client meetings to learn how advisors build relationships and solve challenges.
- Help with follow-up tasks, including research, documentation, and solution development.
- Use financial planning and CRM software for data management, plan modeling, and entry.
- Contribute to team discussions on improving client service and business development.
- Handle account maintenance and money movement processes.
- Collaborate on special projects and client service initiatives.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree and expect to graduate within 12 months.
- A major in wealth management, financial planning, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- A clear interest in a client-facing advisory career.
- Strong customer service orientation and organizational skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics in a simple, relatable way.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn our specific planning and CRM tools.
- Curiosity about financial markets, planning strategies, and client motivations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- This is an on-site position based in Newport Beach, California.
- The internship is paid and operates on a rolling term basis.
- This is a full-time role.
