About the role#
Marathon Petroleum Corporation is hiring interns for the Spring 2027 term. You will work in a Commercial Sourcing Advisor, Supply Chain Associate, or Business Analyst capacity. These roles focus on procurement, contract management, and materials management within our operations. You will gain exposure to our internal policies and work to build relationships with both suppliers and internal teams.
What you'll do#
- Learn our policies and procedures for procurement, contracts, and materials management.
- Take a hands-on role in purchasing indirect goods and services.
- Engage in cross-functional category management activities.
- Collaborate with teams from Accounts Payable, Finance, Supply Chain, and IT.
- Support supply chain practices and process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze data to gain business insights or prepare and analyze bid packages.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree-seeking program throughout the internship.
- Academic focus in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
- Strong academic performance.
- Authorization to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without sponsorship.
- Military experience is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, on-site position.
- Locations include Findlay, OH; Canonsburg, PA; Garyville, LA; Wilmington, CA; Detroit, MI; and San Antonio, TX.
- This position is paid.
