About the role#
The Supply Chain AI Intern works with the Supply Chain Department to support procurement, category management, and digital transformation initiatives. You will receive guidance from leadership and cross-functional partners to complete projects that improve data-driven decision-making and automate workflows. This position provides hands-on experience applying artificial intelligence and data tools to real-world supply chain challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and implementation of AI-driven tools to improve sourcing, spend analysis, and procurement operations.
- Analyze large datasets to find trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process inefficiencies.
- Build, test, and document AI agents and automation workflows for tasks like purchase order management and supplier follow-ups.
- Collaborate with Category Managers and Buyers to streamline procurement activities.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Excel, or similar platforms.
- Support the integration of AI solutions into existing systems.
- Document processes, workflows, and AI use cases for training and scalability.
- Present project outcomes, insights, and business impact at the end of the program.
- Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, including attending safety meetings and using required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BS or MS program in Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) from late May through early August 2027.
- Experience building AI agents.
- Coursework or experience involving AI/ML concepts, data analytics, or supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and reliably with attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Midland, Texas.
- You must be able to physically work at the Midland office.
- The role involves physical requirements such as sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs.
