About the role#
Marathon Petroleum offers internship and co-op opportunities for college students to gain hands-on experience in the energy industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals as a contributing member of a team. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term starting in Spring 2027.
What you'll do#
Depending on your placement, your responsibilities may include:
- Coordinate pipeline, barge, and tanker movements to optimize product supply.
- Monitor terminal and refinery inventories daily to manage supply and demand.
- Develop improved scheduling methods to utilize resources efficiently.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data to uncover trends and generate insights.
- Support project coordination efforts across various departments.
- Assist with market research, report creation, and administrative tasks.
- Serve as a liaison between commercial teams and IT for system support and troubleshooting.
What you'll need#
- Concurrent enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Data Science, or Logistics.
- Strong academic performance.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Military experience is considered a plus.
