About the role#
This internship supports the General Account ESG team at Manulife. You will help integrate ESG and climate-related considerations into investment decisions across our global portfolio. You will work alongside colleagues in Investments, Risk, Finance, Data, and Sustainability to advance priority initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Research ESG, climate, and sustainable finance trends, regulations, and market practices.
- Support climate risk analysis and assess material ESG risks and opportunities for public and private investments.
- Analyze portfolio data, including emissions and other climate metrics.
- Assist with regulatory and internal reporting, including process improvements.
- Help with ESG integration, peer benchmarking, and thematic research.
- Turn research and data into presentations, briefings, and practical insights.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in finance, economics, business, sustainability, environmental studies, or a related field.
- Ability to research, analyze information, and synthesize findings into clear insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive approach to learning and a collaborative working style.
- Interest in sustainable finance, climate change, or ESG, supported by relevant coursework or experience.
