About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. We are looking for college students, preferably in Construction Management or Civil Engineering programs, who want a hands-on, field-oriented experience. This role is designed for those interested in building a career toward future Superintendent positions. You will work under the direction of Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, or Drill Operators. Be prepared for out-of-town travel and potential overtime. You must be able to work outside on uneven surfaces in various weather conditions.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Attend daily heads-up safety meetings, as well as periodic job and foreman meetings.
- Learn the safety requirements for working on construction sites and around explosives.
- Perform general construction labor tasks.
- Pump blast holes dry using a water pump.
- Load and unload explosives from trucks.
- Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes.
- Keep the job site clean and organized.
- Submit accurate, signed weekly time cards.
- Work without direct supervision when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record and your own transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check required by the ATF.
- Physical agility, including the ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Comfort with stooping and bending for the majority of the workday.
- Previous experience as a construction laborer is helpful but not required.
