About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. We are looking for college students, preferably those studying Construction Management or Civil Engineering, who want a hands-on field experience. This role is designed for individuals interested in growing a career toward future Superintendent positions. You will work under the direction of Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, or Drill Operators. Please note that this role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and you may be required to travel out of town or work overtime.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Attend daily safety meetings, as well as periodic job and foreman meetings.
- Perform construction laboring tasks, sometimes working without direct supervision.
- Load and unload explosives from trucks.
- Pump blast holes dry using a water pump.
- Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes.
- Keep the job site clean and organized.
- Submit accurate, signed time cards to your Blaster or Foreman each week.
- Maintain physical agility to work on uneven, loose surfaces.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college student, preferably in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- A valid driver license with a good driving record and your own transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and an ATF criminal background check.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stoop and bend for a significant portion of the day.
- A willingness to learn and develop skills for higher-level tasks.
- Previous construction labor experience is helpful but not required.
