About the role#
This internship provides hands-on exposure to construction operations. You will work under direct supervision to help plan and build projects while learning how to optimize resources and control costs. The program includes mentorship and project work that connects your classroom learning to real business operations.
What you'll do#
- Support safety initiatives and follow all environmental and quality standards.
- Help the project team plan sequential project steps, bid processes, and contract development.
- Attend planning and pre-bid meetings.
- Monitor project safety, costs, and schedules.
- Coordinate material purchases, deliveries, and tracking.
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Operate heavy equipment and perform manual or skilled labor tasks.
- Complete specific projects as required by the internship program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A valid driver license and a clean driving history.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work on your feet for long periods and walk across uneven terrain.
- Previous construction or internship experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of software for bidding or project take-offs is a plus.
