About the role#
Thornton Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Construction Management Intern for the summer of 2026. This role offers students pursuing degrees in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related fields the chance to apply academic knowledge to active job sites. You will work alongside project managers and site supervisors to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers in overseeing and coordinating construction projects.
- Attend project meetings and provide administrative support.
- Track project schedules, budgets, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Monitor work progress to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Support site supervisors in coordinating subcontractors and material deliveries.
- Conduct site visits to observe construction activities.
- Maintain accurate project records, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports.
- Generate and maintain subcontract and purchase order logs.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and contract documents.
- Support quality control efforts by documenting site conditions.
- Assist in safety inspections and ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications is a plus.
- Experience with construction software is a plus.
- Willingness to work on the jobsite or travel to project locations as needed.

- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Positions are located in Opa-locka, Florida, and Orlando, Florida.
- This role is on-site and follows a rolling term.
