About the role#
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking a Structural Design Intern for Summer 2027. You will help maintain and improve company standards and tools while contributing to project success through the creation of design documentation and layouts.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to develop BIM models for steel structures and foundations.
- Use Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create drawings, plans, and details.
- Coordinate with design group members to exchange project information.
- Assist in the development of department tools and standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor program in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology or a related field.
- Proficiency in drafting programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, GEOPAK, or Navisworks.
- Familiarity with databases, spreadsheets, and basic computer operating systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with team members and external contacts.
- Capacity to follow instructions, work safely, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work during normal operating hours, with potential for overtime and weekend work.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Positions are available in Lenexa, Kansas, and Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
- This role is on-site.
