About the role#
MAAS Companies is looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the $235 million University Student Union project at California State University, Long Beach. This role serves as the primary on-site leader for the University, overseeing the project from scope development through construction closeout. The project involves renovating 180,000 square feet of existing space and adding 50,000 square feet of new construction, including food service areas, lounges, event spaces, and recreation facilities.
What you'll do#
- Manage the full design and construction process, including contracting and administration.
- Supervise the project team and provide day to day leadership.
- Monitor contract budgets and reconcile costs with the Division Fiscal Manager.
- Report monthly cash flow and manage the value engineering process.
- Guide stakeholder design decisions to ensure the project stays within the approved budget.
- Coordinate design submittals for review by CSU Capital Planning, Design and Construction and the CSU Board of Trustees.
- Obtain all necessary plan reviews prior to bidding.
- Ensure project compliance with all governing agencies and inspection requirements.
What you'll need#
- About 10 years of experience on public works projects.
- Direct experience with design-build or progressive design-build delivery methods.
- Senior level project leadership experience, including supervising design and construction teams.
- Ability to work on site at the Long Beach campus in person.
- Professional licenses are preferred.
- Prior experience with the CSU system is preferred.
