About the role#
This position supports the Joint and Spine Unit by providing direct patient care and working with the broader health care team. You will perform basic nursing tasks and assist with clinical operations to ensure patients receive quality care.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct care to patients, focusing on personal hygiene and comfort.
- Initiate and maintain safety measures for patients.
- Assist with patient admissions, including taking vital signs and orienting patients to their rooms.
- Manage patient discharges, including dressing, gathering belongings, and transport.
- Collect and record patient care data, such as intake and output.
- Help patients with mobilization and positioning.
- Report pain or changes in patient conditions to the assigned nurse.
- Assist with the orientation of new staff members.
- Transport medications and patients according to safety policies.
- Maintain unit supply and equipment levels.
- Process written medical staff orders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited registered nursing program.
- Successful completion of the first year of a clinical nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical semester.
- CNA certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification.
