About the role#
Lila Sciences is seeking students to join the Next Gen Engineering team. You will collaborate with diverse engineering groups to test and validate tools that enable Scientific Super Intelligence. This role offers hands-on experience in designing and implementing hardware and software solutions that support autonomous scientific discovery.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and implement software and hardware tools alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
- Onboard laboratory equipment onto the AISF platform by installing custom software and testing equipment processes.
- Document your learnings, observations, and contributions to help internal teams iterate on methodologies.
- Participate in special engineering initiatives and contribute to the goals of the Next Gen Engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a STEM field, such as Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Proficiency or a strong interest in software development and programming.
- Experience with hands-on projects or prototyping.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Passion for the intersection of lab automation and AI.
- Experience with scientific equipment in academic labs or familiarity with bench science assays is a plus.
