About the role#
Lila Sciences is seeking students to join the Next Gen Engineering team to support the development of Scientific Super Intelligence. This co-op provides the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, gaining hands-on experience in testing and validating tools that advance scientific discovery through intelligent automation.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and implement software and hardware tools to support scientific automation.
- Onboard laboratory equipment onto the AISF platform by installing custom software and testing equipment processes to ensure seamless operation.
- Document learnings, observations, and contributions to help internal teams iterate on processes and methodologies.
- Participate in special engineering initiatives and contribute to the broader goals of the Next Gen Engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a STEM field, such as Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Proficiency or a strong interest in software development and programming.
- Experience with hands-on projects or prototyping.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Passion for the intersection of lab automation and AI.
- Experience working with scientific equipment in academic labs or familiarity with bench science assays is a plus.
