About the role#
As a Nurse Extern at Wythe County Community Hospital, you will work alongside the patient care team to support our mission of providing care to the local community. This is a part-time, PRN position that offers hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced nursing staff.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct patient care under the direction, delegation, and supervision of a registered nurse.
- Document the care you provide to patients.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to your supervising RN.
- Work collaboratively with the broader patient care team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- Completion of at least the first semester of nursing school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 30 days of hire).

- Location: Wytheville, Virginia.
- Employment type: Part-time, PRN.
- Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
