About the role#
The CAS Residential Math Student Assistant provides support to the math department. This role involves working independently to assist faculty and staff with daily operations, classroom needs, and laboratory tasks. You will work on-site in Lynchburg, Virginia, on a part-time basis.
What you'll do#
- Assist math department personnel with classes, labs, and office tasks.
- Set up and clear physics labs.
- Provide direct support to professors as needed.
- Work as an effective team member while following university policies.
What you'll need#
- Recommendation from a course instructor, department chairman, or associate chairman.
- Current enrollment as a Mathematics major with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- High competence in course content.
- Strong organizational, computer, and scheduling skills.
- Ability to reason, analyze information, and apply judgment to solve problems.
- Proficiency in English, including the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
