About the role#
The Department of Emergency Management & Community Engagement is looking for a Student Office Assistant. You will support the team with administrative tasks, project coordination, and office maintenance. This role is a part-time position for students looking to gain experience in a professional office setting.
What you'll do#
- Handle purchase orders, requisitions, expense reports, and general filing.
- Coordinate interdepartmental activities, including scheduling meetings and events.
- Maintain office organization, cleanliness, and supply inventory.
- Assist the Emergency Manager with drafting policies.
- Scan, copy, rename, and collate department records and paperwork.
- Proofread documents and manage data entry for various projects.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be a residential student at Liberty University and be Work Study approved.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Lynchburg, Virginia.
- This is a part-time role with rolling start dates.
- Use of a University vehicle may be required, which may necessitate a valid Virginia driver license and a clean driving record.
