About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern at Lexair, Inc., you will join our engineering team to support the development of pneumatic and hydraulic products. This role involves a mix of design work, testing, and process improvement within our machine shop and office environments.
What you'll do#
- Design and enhance pneumatic and hydraulic products.
- Use SolidWorks to develop custom valves from concept through to production.
- Run simulations and analyses to evaluate product efficiency, including stress assessments and engineering calculations.
- Work with cross-functional teams and liaise with vendors to gather technical specifications.
- Perform quality control inspections and recommend design modifications based on test results.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, such as drawings and manuals.
- Manage multiple projects at once to improve product safety and reliability.
- Resolve engineering issues with manufacturing staff and suppliers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A genuine interest in a career within machining, manufacturing, or engineering.
- A basic understanding of mechanical tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.
- The ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
