About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in a machine shop environment. You will assist the VP of Manufacturing and the machining team with daily operations. The role involves supporting projects across engineering, CNC machining, and assembly, helping you build foundational skills for a career in manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Assist machinists with daily tasks and machine setups.
- Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and your work area.
- Organize and prepare materials for machining processes.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machines under supervision.
- Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and dollies.
- Ensure workstations remain stocked with necessary tools and materials.
- Work on 3D printing, PLC controls, and assembly projects.
- Follow all safety protocols to maintain a clean work environment.
- Support other departments and team members as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a High School Diploma.
- Interest in a career within machining, engineering, or manufacturing.
- A basic understanding of mechanical tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new tasks.
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Location & details#
- Location: Lexington, Kentucky.
- Modality: On-site in a climate-controlled facility.
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- This is a paid, part-time internship.
